In Settlers of Catan, players are recent immigrants to the newly populated island of Catan. Expand your colony through the building of settlements, roads, and villages by harvesting commodities from the land around you. Trade sheep, lumber ,bricks and grain for a settlement, bricks and wood for a road, or try to complete other combinations for more advanced buildings, services and specials. Trade with other players, or at local seaports to get resources you might lack. The first player to achieve 10 points from a combination of roads, settlements, and special cards wins. This version of Settlers of Catan board game is the 4th US Edition, English Language.

I remember when I first sat down to play this, I thought it was going to be boring, but I was dead wrong! This is now my alltime favourite board game! I would recommend it to anyone!

"Never settle for less than Catan!" One of the few games I will recommend to practically anyone who will listen. An essential building block to any game collection, the flexibility of design and variety of strategies provide something to get everyone hooked, be they young or old, "casual" or "serious" players, master tacticians or skilful negotiators. The seemingly limitless combinations of Catan maps - even before you start adding expansions - ensure this game will always remain fresh with new challenges. If you've never branched out from the old guard of Monopoly, Clue, Risk and the like, you owe it to yourself to let Settlers of Catan show you what a board game can really do.
