The forest is filled with all sorts of Monsters. They watched and waited as you built your Castle and trained your soldiers, but now theyve gathered their army and are marching out of the woods.
Can you work with your friends to defend your Castle against the horde, or will the Monsters tear down your Walls and destroy the precious Castle Towers? You will all win or lose together, but in the end only one player will be declared the Master Slayer!
Castle Panic is a cooperative, light strategy game for 1 to 6 players ages 10 and up.
Players must work together to defend their castle, in the center of the board, from monsters that attack out of the forest, at the edges of the board. Players trade cards, hit and slay monsters, and plan strategies together to keep their castle towers intact. The players either win or lose together, but only the player with the most victory points is declared the Master Slayer. Players must balance the survival of the group with their own desire to win.

I can't recommend Castle Panic highly enough. It's easily accessible to casual gamers, but has enough strategy to involve the more seasoned gamer as well. It's fun and plays quickly. Most of our games have been between 60 and 90 minutes, from setup to completion.
Castle Panic does not have the sense of impending doom of a co-op like Pandemic. It also does not seem to be weighted as heavily against the players. Which makes it an excellent introduction to co-op games for younger gamers.
The only issue I've had with the game is actually with the production quality of the die that came with it. It was not actually a proper cube, with 2 faces being slightly warped. Not really an issue for any gamer as I just tossed it and grabbed another six-sider from my dice bag. All the other components are well made, so I may simply have gotten a random bad die.
If you are looking for an enjoyable co-op game, buy Castle Panic.
