Conflict of Heroes is a unique new series of fast-paced board game simulations that follow the development of modern day squad and platoon level tactics starting with World War II through modern day Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Conflict of Heroes merges the elegance of streamlined Eurogame rules with deep strategic wargames. The series is an excellent teaching and training tool for company level combined arms tactics. The first game in the series is Awakening the Bear!, which covers Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of Russia in 1941. Many consider this time period to be the birth of modern warfare tactics that continue to be used and perfected by today's modern armies.

Awards:
Winner CSR Awards for Best Graphics & Designer Uwe Eickert
A great system which Uwe Eickert has done a wonderful job in conveying the strategy of the second world war. The components are some of the best in a war game and the rules are easy to understand. This game can easily be taught to new players in the war game genre, but adds enough for the seasoned vets to enjoy. With more expansions on the way and a wonderful system that only gets better each time you play, this is a good *Gateway* game in to the world of wargames.
